A recording of my long poem “Blood”, a collaboration between myself (voice) and Kyle Morton, of Typhoon (guitar), is now available for a listen and a download from Black Cake Records. “Blood” is the last of three sections in my forthcoming book, The Book of Joshua, which will be available this summer from Black Ocean. This track was recorded and mixed by Kyle in his studio in Portland, OR.
Black Cake, a record label out of Portland, OR, is an audio archive of contemporary poets, and is operated by Kelly Schrimann, who also designs the covers. Black Cake now has 8 records in its catalog, and “Blood” was simultaneously released with audio recordings “from Broadax” by Amy Lawless.
You should download both of these recordings and put them in your ears and walk around all week. If you download them, let me suggest you name a price other than zero, because they’re worth more than that.
Enjoy! And may all your dead be somehow revived.
