In 2003, I started Octopus Magazine with Tony Tost. The two of us co-edited the first three or so issues, and I edited issues 5-6 on my own. In 2005, Mathias Svalina and I co-edited the rest. And all but one of all of those issues were designed by Denny Schmickle. And now the last two issues have been in the capable hands of its new editor, Joseph Mains, and its designer Travis Meyer. Octopus Magazine’s 16th issue is now available, ten years after the first. Go read it and tell it Happy Anniversary for me. Thank you to everyone who has given us poems, essays, reviews, interviews the past ten years, and to everyone who has ever clicked on that link and read a few things. Octopus Magazine has been one of the things I’ve done that I’ve been most proud of. It has changed my life for the better. And it’s still alive for me, and you, to visit.
