On January 10, 2013, I read three poems from Fjords in front of a capacity crowd at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall just before Jonathan Franzen came out to do magic tricks. The event was sponsored by Oregon Literary Arts, the organization that is hosting the Oregon Book Awards, for which Fjords is nominated. Tomorrow night, February 24, at 9 PST, OPB is rebroadcasting the event. Tune in to hear me and Jonathan entertain the biggest crowd (by very far) I’ve ever read in front of.
I guess this is also a good time to tell you that you can vote for Fjords for The Oregonian’s Reader’s Choice Awards, you know, if you’re a reader, and want to choose it. It takes less time than brushing your teeth. But, also, you should brush your teeth for longer.
