"Cake, Hands, and Light" is a pop-up exhibition of a selection of my work over the past year. It's my first solo show with Koplin Del Rio. Celebrate the closing of the show with me on Saturday, Sept 7 at 3pm in the gallery space. I'll give a talk and a poetry reading. More details to come, but know this: there'll be cake, of course. Santa Anita is a recent series of paintings initially sparked by the colors and shapes Schomburg found in an old closed-off section of the Santa Anita racetrack on a recent trip there with his father in the spring of 2023. 7 of the 28 paintings he has made so far in the series will be on display at Makerspace Sellwood through June.
